Tin Star Blog received this photo and the following email communication regarding the placing of homemade sign covers over the top of the in-place "No on Measure D" yard signs.
Nice job, fireguys! Like the saying goes, "If you're not cheating, you're not trying."
Sergeant-
A family member of mine is a Trabuco Canyon resident. She informed me that while she was out on her morning walk she witnessed a woman placing Yes on Measure D plastic slip covers over the No on our Measure D signs.
She saw this happening at the corner of El Toro Rd. and Ridgeline.
I was over in that neighborhood when she told me so I drove right down to the corner and removed several of the slip covers from off of the signs. Two days later all the No signs were gone but the Yes signs remain in place. Big surprise...there is a fire station just up the road.
My family has picked up No on measure D signs that had been thrown behind bushes all over that neighborhood. How disappointing.

Briefing is over. Stay safe out there and keep the yard signs deployed!

Just in case you fellows out there don't know, that firestation is Station 42, are they doing on duty, getting paid by the tax payers.
Hey OC and the rest of your fire mob...WHO is running the dishonest campaign?
A note to OUR recently elected Freshmen Board Member, I believe the reference you made in regards to OUR campiagn was "juvenile." Something to THINK about...
OC Firestorm and he Men and Women at Station 42 you have a lot of explaining to do.
Hey Strom, what station are you assigned to?
Hey Firemen, if you need anymore money, look me up, I have a phone number for you ;)
Suddenly Firestorm and A shift are mute!
Typical Fire Authority union tactic.....always looking for a quick and dishonest way to try to get more money!
By the way the OC Register pounded the OC Fire Authority once again. As a matter of fact thanks to Measure D the OC Fire Authority has brough much un-needed attention to law enforcement and fire personnel. OC Fire Authority has not only alienated itself from Law Enfrocement but Im sure other Fire Depts aren't very happy with them as well.
I GOT YOUR MUTE!
Hey Sarge as for the title of this section I have an issue.....there are firegals too ya know.....One of them was also at the podium in front of the Board of Sups complaining about how unfair life is since the voters in OC were given a choice besides just Measure D....she even mentioned she had been "working" at OCFA for a whole 15 years.
NO ON D
Suddenly Firestorm and A Shift is quite.
Do you thin perhaps they are waiting for two more before they come back in?
Oops! Before Integrity pops his head back in, I ment "Quiet."
I just noticed that on Bill Hunt's website he has removed the names of the Sheriff's personnel who endorsed him because the Sheriff's Administration has threatened these people with retaliation....so is this the latest move by Hunt to divert attention from his NATO response to Measure D?
Hey drag, you left out the word "allegedlly' before "threatened."
Here is another possibility, is it possible that some of these folks signed under false pretense-duress-peer presure-and supervisory pressure, and now they are hiding these names because they may be potential witness to a potential crimminal indictment.
Back to the topic, there is a lot of us driving around on duty and off. Hopefully On Duty you'll get lucky and capture these fire goofs, on PVS, discarding signs and placing covers over signs. Off duty keep a digital camera near by for the same purpose.
I think we ran off Firestorm and A Shift, and Storm called us "Girlymen."
At least A Shaft when he ran out of hear he gave us the Finger, as he ran away.
Hey Sheepdog...I stand corrected....yes allegedly is more appropriate.
I also have seen a retired fire truck driving around in South County today with Yes on Measure D signs all over it. Perhaps if OCFA is in such desperate need of fire trucks they can use this one that looked like it was in pretty good shape....at least thats what some employees and customers at the Blockbuster said as they saw it cruising the parking lot in Robinson Ranch today!
Dratheright-Thanks for the comment on Hunt's web page. What a bunch of cr*p. One of the last LT promotions was a sergeant on his endorsement list. Admin and Carona don't play that game...Hunt got promoted didn't he!
Sheep Dog really nailed it with his follow-up comment. The deputy endorsements were all from a petition passed around the jail by deputies on-duty, or by Hunt who was "illegally" visiting the jail facilities. The web page was a witness list for the criminal investigators.
Hunt's absence of integrity is amplified by his slanderous comments about the Admin staff. Hunt gets in trouble and then blames someone else for his problems. A pattern is developing.
I can't wait to see the No on D banner come up on his web page...on Wednesday.
Thanks (you know who) for telling me about this blog. What fun! I am going to have to read the stuff from prior months.
Maybe I'm repeating something already discussed, but forget the endorsement lists, I want to know when Hunt is going to read his own media archive. In it is an article from 1999 explaining that you can't use photographs of yourself in uniform for political campaigns. It is against the law!
I wonder if the other deputies and a recruit depicted in the photos gave their permission to use them on his web page?
Also, as a parent I wouldn't want my little boy scout's photo on the Internet, but who knows maybe Hunt asked for permission. I'm sure he was off-duty when he staged that photo op.
FYI -
Another interesting read from Hunt's archives:
The following is clipped out of a 1999 article regarding Carona's conversation with Fire about 172 monies. Note Dave Thompson's comments, he was the VP of the Fire Union.
<<< The money comes from a half-cent sales tax approved statewide by voters in 1993 for public safety. The cash was meant to replace some $2.3 billion in lost property-tax revenue that had been shifted from counties to schools by the state.
Orange County supervisors - at the urging of then-Sheriff Gates - concluded that the Sheriff`s Department and the District Attorney`s Office were the only county agencies that had lost money in the shift. Therefore, they should be the only ones to receive money from the county`s share of Proposition 172 funds.
Orange County firefighting agencies and the Probation Department were left out in the cold.
According to state law, the only way county supervisors can change the funding formula is if it can be shown that another agency also lost property-tax money in the shift to education.
Dave Thompson, vice president of the Orange County Professional Firefighters Association, said it is worth a try. Thompson doesn`t fault Carona if it fails.
He agreed to look at it, and that`s the most we could get out of him, and that`s more than we ever got out of Sheriff Gates, Thompson said.
Meanwhile, Carona has directed his budget planners to begin looking for other ways the Sheriff`s Department can financially help firefighting and probation agencies.
If the county can`t change the distribution formula, is there a way we can be collegial in how we use the funds we have? Carona said.
If the county can`t reallocate the money, we`re trying to pick up costs (firefighting and probation agencies) would normally have to bear. >>>
NO ON D!!!!!
Not wanting to break up Deputy Mom's string of posts, but driving up Crown Valley Pkwy this weekend, between La Plata and La Paz I believe, there were some fresh Yes on D signs, and one No on D sign standing up in the grass.
However, behind an adjacent bush (and clearly visible while driving up CVP towards the 5 from the ocean) there were about 3 No on D signs and I believe a Brewer campaign signs lying on their sides like so much discarded trash.
I've been working my very tiny mind, but I can't figure out for the life of me who might'a done that...(rolling eyes)
EDJ
Don't hate the Playa-Hate the Game!
Well while the fire people were out driving a retired fire truck around, wasting gas, money and pulling and covering NO ON D signs many of us in LE were walking and meeting the great voters of OC.....the continued support to LE has been great and the ANTI-D campaign is at its strongest Ive seen.
The only question is how are the OCFA Board gonna pay off their debt after their defeat!
NO ON D
Yeah-that's great. "Don't hate the playah-hate the game."
Classic line. Hear it from inmates and street criminals alllll the time.
Demonstrative of the "I don't respect personal accountability" mindset that usually typifies Oakland Raider fans and other hoodlums. It is not demonstrative of educated public servants with integrity.
Hi Ladies~
Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Thanks for all the call outs, but I was in Vegas this weekend relaxing...something you all should have been doing too!
I like Serge's post from "Anonymous". That photo is more staged then anything I saw in the OJ trial! It MIGHT have carried more weight if it was on the street somewhere, but placed against a door? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense! I doubt the YES on D sign was placed over it. But heck, even if it was, why not just remove it?
You guys are running out of material!
Hey, Serge, you never told me Sheriff Carona supports Measure D. Follow the link below:
See Video of Sheriff Corona Promising Funds to Fire Fighters. Amazing!
Yeah, it's amazingly funny, you idiot! What a bunch of dumb*ss Jonestown morons!
Hey Bumper,
Glad to see you're still in form!
Sheriff Corona Supports Prop 172/Measure B Fund to Fire Fighters. Amazing!
O-CRV Firestorm,
Are the real issues in this campaign about apologies to a bunch of firefighters? You seem to forget that the issue in this campaign was your little regional fire agency (43% ring a bell?) trying to rip off the citizens of the entire county.
And your great leader The Joekerr, you know the one you’d follow any where, is now taking you into extreme debt for a cause that had no hope. But that’s not anyone’s problem but your own.
This sheriff today does not have the authority to allocate the prop. 172 funds. The Joekerr was told this the first time he screwed over the deputy sheriffs, and he was told that this time when he attempted to screw them over again.
So come back with something witty and cute, maybe even with some more html copy and paste. But these facts remain the same. They still have not changed.
See How the Firefighters are going get out of debt. Amazing!
I'm not sure what the h*ll you just said, but apparently you think you're Doc Holliday heading for the OK Corral. I think you need a reality check, little mister!
Sheriff Carona working overtime to stop reports he's a serial adulterer!
You know Doc, while the fire guys hope we'll win and you cops hope you'll win, the fact is the majority of our people (yours and mine) could give a rat's *ss about this.
I bump into deputies often and they're friendly and professional. It's not a matter of being that way just to the get the job done; rather, I find it to be genuine. The same goes for fire guys.
I had a deputy come into my station today to take a p*ss. He certainly didn't hold any ill will or be of the opinion that the relationship between fire and sheriff is over after tomorrow. Maybe he didn’t get the memo (from you guys) that he’s not supposed to come into our stations or talk to us unless absolutely necessary.
About a dozen or so full time bloggers have learned to take things in stride and don't get worked up too much anymore. It's when the part-time bloggers (reserves?) jump in the middle of things that things seem to go sideways and the insults and talk of everlasting discontent arise.
So, while I’m not saying there’ll be a love fest after tomorrow, those who have always been d*cks will continue to be so and those who are easy going will still be easy going. The question is, what group do you belong to?
I'm not sure what the h*ll you just said, but apparently you think you're Doc Holliday heading for the OK Corral. I think you need a reality check, little mister!
O-CRV Storm,
Why would anyone expect you to understand anything as complicated as Pied Piper Joekerr and his 700+ blind mice trying to rip off OC taxpayers?
Your last two points suggest you think too much.
By the way, the blog police you are not. So save the lecture for one of your fire station houseboys.
By the way, have you heard?:
See How the Firefighters are going get out of debt. Amazing!
By the way, the blog police you are not. So save the lecture for one of your fire station houseboys.
Gee, Doc, I guess you'll continue to be one of the d*cks! Apparently it's a role you're comfortable with and good at!
By the way, the blog police you are not.
Hmmmm...I don't think I claimed to be the blog police. I just noted that those of us who have been posting here regularly seem to roll with things...folks like you who pop in w/ your verbal ejaculations seem to get all bent.
Well, while you're brethren aren't afraid to stop in our stations or engage in conversation, you don't need to be. You'll just have to learn to nut-up, little man!
Be safe!
See John Holiday’s Boss Promising Funds to Fire Fighters. Amazing!
I watched the video time and time again and for the life me, I DON"T see Sheriff Carona promising anyone anything.
What I doo see, is an admitted politician making a promise JUST TO GET ELECTED, like EVERY CANDIDATE running for any political office.
That's ONE CANDIDATE.
However what I also see is DOZENS of FIREFIGHTERS falling for it.
YOUR STATION? Wrong again LITTLE MISTER O-CRV that station belongs to the citizens of Orange County. By the way, WHY ARE YOU ENGAGING IN A POLITCAL DEBATE ON DUTY-SHAME ON YOU LITTLE MISTER!
Doc has a great idea, the next time one of you deputies go into a fire station, leave a recyclable.
"O-CRV Storm" LOL
Speaking with a civil tongue to crooks and thieves is something Deputy Sheriff's develop in the Jail and yet perfect with years of experience.
Despite what your buffon coworker states,
Just because we are polite doesn't me we like the "playah" or the "game."
Once again, it is not YOUR FIRE STATION.
Despite what your buffon coworker states...
Buf·fon ( P ) Pronunciation Key (b-fô), Comte Georges Louis Leclerc de. 1707-1788.
French naturalist whose monumental Histoire Naturelle (36 volumes, 1749-1788; 8 additional volumes completed by assistants and published in 1804) laid the foundation for later studies in biology, zoology, and comparative anatomy.
Or, do you mean, baffoon, you baffoon?
:)
Stay safe!
What a dumb*ss!!! After all that trouble to try and make himself look smart, he spells "buffoon" as "Baffoon". What a dork!
<After all that trouble to try and make himself look smart, he spells "buffoon" as "Baffoon". What a dork!
You win, bumper! Yes, I was wondering if anyone would notice. Trust me...I had to look it up myself!
I have noticed you do take the prize for the best grammar and punctuation on this blog, but I didn't want you to think I was falling for you so I never said anything.
Good eye (you're a trained observer!)
Check out the big brain on O-CRV Storm
"buffoon"
n 1: a rude or vulgar fool [syn: clown] 2: a person who amuses others by ridiculous behavior [syn: clown, merry andrew]
You are not the only one that can cut and paste. At least we do it from home at our own expense and not on the tax payers dime.
"I bump into deputies often and they're friendly and professional. It's not a matter of being that way just to the get the job done; rather, I find it to be genuine. The same goes for fire guys. "
Hey O-CRV the next deputy that walks into the tax payer owned fire station, you know the one where you do your politics from, ask him about what he thinks about about your reference to calling those brave deputies that rescued Mike Gaard Girlymen.
And what's with the 'Firestorm" moniker, I suppose you were hoping for one to occur just to gain the support of the public for your greedy political cause.
I sure do know what CRV (California Redemtion Value) is...are you allowed to collect cans while on duty?
O-CRV did you just get an e-mail from one of your E-Board members telling you to stop posting?
Do you sit and roll over too?
I sure do know what CRV (California Redemtion Value) is...are you allowed to collect cans while on duty?
Glad you know what it is...I had to look it up (just like the spelling of buffoon!)
By the way, isn’t it spelled REDEMPTION? (Ask Bumper, he’s the brains of the bunch here!)
Yes we are permitted to collect them on duty...newspapers too...bring 'em by, they help offset our costs here at the station!
O-CRV did you just get an e-mail from one of your E-Board members telling you to stop posting?
Do you sit and roll over too?
No, I was looking up the spelling of redemption!!!!

So mop up.....it's been a while and I know you guys dont get to practice much anyhow :)
NO ON D
OC Fire,
You're going to need alot of cans and newspapers to pay your $189,000.00 campaign debt!
By the way OC Fire.....we can still be cordial and professional when we should be.....but every dog has his day....a saying comes to my mind about the "friendly ones" you have met....I have a very good saying to live by...."Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer."
By the way OC Fire.....glad your back....I was worried that you may have been trying to help your cause and walk precincts....hope you won at Vegas.....one out of two wont be bad huh! :)
Sorry OC Fire.....that was me who had to relieve himself....and by the way I missed the bowl entirely! It sure did feel good to get those 24 ounces out!
How could you have missed? I hear you have to sit when you Pee.
:)
Hey OC...Now that was funny!
Thanks...I thought so!
I only started sitting around your place after your ol lady got tired of cleaning off the toilet seat after I left.....sorry thought I was at your house otherwise I'd have been standing. :)
Sheese,
Get in line!
(Serge is gonna scold us.)
It's beginning to sound like a High School Locker Room in here.
.....Hey everyone, don't forget to lock your lockers or the fire man will try and take your money.
O-CRV Firestorm,
I figure the total weight of the signs your side has stolen have a CRV value of upwards of $39. Any chance you splitting the proceeds with the deputies?
Newsflash! Check this out :
See the get out of debt training bulliten The Joekerr is sending to his OC fire-minions.AMAZING!!!
Okay fire guy....any last requests before Measure D's sentence to political peril? It's OCFA's last request before the public sentences you for 664/459 (that's attempt burglary fireguy). And no your buddy the governator isn't going to spare you guys either! Especially after you were so impolite to him after your press conference where you shook his hand and smiled for the media.
Hey is that smoke I smell? Or was it just measure D GOING UP IN FLAMES :)
AH AH.....get your paws off my locker fireguy!
D = DONE
Nice one Holliday.....but where is Joeker in that training bulletin....surely he's gonna hang around to help the rebuilding effort.....isn't he? Joeker? Come in Joeker?
Yeah, Yeah, Ladies,
We'll see about 2000/2100ish when the results start getting posted on the Registrar’s website.
As a public service, here's the link to Registrar’s page showing the tally as it comes in:
Measure D Wins!
Hey Fire guy.....where ya having the Measure D wake tonight? Rumor has it the "Boom Boom Room" was gonna be your "staging" area....you guys must really be a "hit" (so to speak) there!
We thought about the Boom Boom room, but I didn't wanna get bumped in the rear by Bumper!
Oh, now you DON'T want it anymore.Leave to to a firescab, always changing his mind like a bitch.
You're just too much of a man for me!!!
You think this is an ugly fight between Fire and SO now, wait until next year when the League of Cities goes after 172 money. It only makes sense. Why should all but the first 5% of 172 funds go to cities and the rest of the money go to the county to divide up as they please or in this case, use the money to fund a large majority of their SO budget, not supplement it like I voted for in 1993.
Local government should receive most of the 172 funds generated within their city. That would really enhance public safety by putting more city police officers on the streets in OC and more firefighters/paramedics in the county to serve its citizens. Not more money in the counties budget to fund non public safety projects.
On another subject, I have not heard of any convicts running around in Coto creating hell as of yet. Do we have to wait until after 8:00 p.m. tonight to see if they are going to get an early release?
Correction on my first statement!
It should have read "why should on 5% of 172 money go to cities and the rest go to the county".
I sent it before I proof read it! MY BAD!
Hey OCFA, didnt you save big dollars when you disbanned the Paid Call Firefighter (PCF) program years back? Back then you said the PCF were stealing jobs and money for equipment. So you got that done and got what? More positions...equipment?
Now you MORE money since you spent most of it on that wasteful HQ. Give us a break...most of you just sit in your recliners and watch you big screen TVs.
I know...I have seen it. Yes, I'm a former PCF and worked 7 years for your department back when it was OCFD.
Maybe the county needs to take over again !!!!
Here's a better link for the election results (updated automatically, etc.):
Election Results
Ahhhhh, the results are coming in...I got a drink; OCFire, light my cigar with one of your stolen "No on D" signs. I think we need to buy some Lazy boys for occasions like this!
See the video of Joekerr and OCFS getting horsewhipped...AMAZING!
I'm calling Jeb Bush in Florida. I want a recount!
Now that was as ass whipping! Now what?
Elliot N. said...
I don't know what O CRV Firestorm is going to due, his feet must be sore for standing at intersections all day-then his neck sore for looking up at our airlplanes all day-and his butt sore or the SPANKING they got.
OCPFA don't forget it was YOUR CURRENT LEADERSHIP-that;
1. Cut a deal with a Sheriff 's candidate back in 1998.
2. Paid a truck load of money to a bunch of Carnies to gather signatures
3. Cut a deal with another Sheriff's candidate in 2005 (Bill Hunt)
4. Was told repeatedly NOT to do this, by Quint stating whoever wins, the public will not recieve it well.
5. And now has your organiztion 100,000K+ in debt.
It looks like the Joekerr's on you!
Come on get the courage, throw those bums. out...we do.
Or you can go to plan B and start collecting recylables.
Maybe they can rent out some of the MANY offices at their new big HQ....you know the one that was the biggest waste of money.
How about the Joe Kerr?
Be a big boy and take your loss.
Glad to see that the public saw the truth behind Measure D.
